House Transformation, Falmouth Penisula

When converting an artists studio into an aspirational kitchen, the client was keen to retain some of the artistic flair of its former life and reflect its seaside location.

A distinctive look was achieved for the kitchen units by applying a wash to the olive ash veneer, finished in a clear lacquer. Weathered blanco maple silestone, with a sharks tooth edge, was used for the worktops. The banquette was fashioned from painted tulip wood, lipped in solid ash.

A drawer within a drawer was created, which allowed the kitchen to retain a minimalist appearance with less drawer fronts.

The wall between the living room and kitchen was replaced with a bespoke birch ply shelving unit. A lacquered ash veneered panel adds an attractive feature.
